Sam obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Behavioural Science (Hons) from Macquarie University. He worked for some years in Health Education, then switched to psychology, completing a Master’s degree in clinical psychology at Sydney University, with a scholarship from the Department of Health.
Sam worked in the Community Health program in Western Sydney as part of a Child and Family Health Team, becoming a senior clinical psychologist. He followed an interest in research and evaluation, carrying out consumer satisfaction surveys and staff activity surveys and data analysis. His strong belief is that if you collect data you should examine and use it to inform decision making, improve accountability and services.
